Mr James A Moore MD FRCS(Urol)

Clinical Experience

Mr James Moore has been a full time Consultant Urologist for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since 2008.  He subspecialty interest is Functional and Reconstructive urology. James graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1995 and then completed basic surgical training in London. James then won a Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship and spent two years doing scientific research at the University of Oxford for which he was subsequently awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD). He then completed his specialist training in Oxford and Christchurch New Zealand. James is a fully accredited specialist in urology and is on the specialist register in urological surgery with the General Medical Council.

 

Mr Moore has particular expertise in the following areas 

  • Urogynaecology / Female Urology
  • Prostate conditions
  • Benign and malignant bladder conditions
  • Complications arising from the use of mesh in the vagina eg TVT / TOT
  • Surgery for post prostatectomy incontinence
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Bladder / Pelvic pain conditions
  • Reconstruction of the urinary tract after cancer surgery or iatrogenic surgical injury
  • Clinical Governance and Risk Management

 

Medicolegal Experience

James has been involved in medicolegal practice for a number of years.  He has had formal training in report writing and giving evidence in court.  He is one of the few UK Urologists who hold Cardiff University Expert Witness Accreditation. He is an active member of the Medico-Legal Society and an accredited expert for AVMA.

Juliet has worked with Mr Moore since 2008 both as a full time NHS Senior Medical Secretary and now currently as his medicolegal PA. In the NHS Juliet had a special role supporting Mr Moore with Clinical Governance activity in his department.

 

Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Juliet has a degree in Business Studies and a Certificate in Legal Studies. This knowledge combined with an extensive understanding of the NHS administrative machine and her ability to compassionately communicate with patients gives her a  unique skillset perfect for her current role.
